This was my first time doing a real green room interview, and it taught me fast that talking to a camera and talking on camera are two completely different skills. I had to learn how to ask questions that weren’t just “fan questions,” keep eye contact with the artist, stay professional without sounding scripted, and make the conversation feel natural even though there were people watching. The biggest lesson was balancing credibility and warmth, being prepared and respectful on the industry side, but also relaxed enough to get real answers instead of short, surface-level responses. I learned how much tone, pacing, and body language matter on video, and how being a good interviewer has less to do with what you ask and more to do with how you make the other person feel while you’re asking it.
